GLaDOS in Acrylics by TwinklePowderySnow GLaDOS in Acrylics by TwinklePowderySnow
Whut the title says. :I This was a royal pain in the ass to paint, and it took about 10 hours. I am never using acrylics again. :<

Oh and the greyish bits around the edge are actually shiny silver, but the scanner didn't pick it up very well. Looks better irl. :c

~
This is supposed to be GLaDOS the first time she uses her android body, so she's examining it. Hence why she's looking so intensely at her hand, lol.

Love this! The shading is beautiful and her expression of curiosity is spot on.

You are an amazing person~ Out of the many Android GLaDOS styles I have seen about everywhere, yours has got to be my absolute FAVORITE! the shading is beautiful and of course the composition of this painting is beautiful, I love how you used the space, and the curvature of GLaDOS to make her the focal point, well done my superior friend.

I had noticed that you were having trouble via tumblr (chuckled at the bit when you mentioned your cat, because I know how it is. Cats just mess you up sometimes. |DD), but I think it turned out really, really great. c:
A pity you don't want to paint with acrylics anymore, but I gotta respect that. ^_^

Heh I think the hourglass figure came out really good in this pose.

And yes, try oils. Definitely try oils. I think you mentioned in tumblr about how acrylics seem to dry too fast for you.

I think even though you had a fight with it, this looks pretty good - especially the highlights and shadows around her face. And her hair. But yes, hair's one of your things. :D

Yeah, I feel ya. When I look at some acrylic artists like ~PRG1 acrylics seems like a fun, viable method to use, yet when I went and got a basic set I was reduced to the artistic level of a 6 year old (probably didn't help that that's were I waws to begin with- I have wierd phases)
